Tony’s Mobile Sports Massage offer the following massages….
Sports Massage
Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed to recover from an event. Sports Massage may utilize a variety of techniques such as classical Swedish Massage, trigger point therapy, and hydrotherapy. in order to stimulate circulation of blood and lymph fluids. The goal of Sports massage is to break down adhesions in the muscles caused by activity and to increase the range of motion.
Prior to an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used with stretching in order to help athletes to loosen, warm and prepare their muscles so that their performance and endurance might be enhanced. Following an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used to relieve pain, prevent stiffness, and return the muscles back to their normal state. Sports Massage may also be used for injury rehabilitation.
There are basically three types of Sports massage because there are different reasons for getting different types of work done at different times:
*Pre-Event Sports Massage – this is a stimulating type of massage aimed at warming up and stretching muscles before they are used in order to prevent injuries and enhance performance and is done 15-45 minutes before the activity occurs.
*Post-Event Sports Massage – usually occurs within an hour or two of the physical activity and helps to normalize the body’s tissue by working lactic acid and other various by products of strenuous exertion from the tissue and lengthening tight muscles.
*Restorative & Rehabilitative Sports Massage: occurs as a supplement during training programs and can help athletes avoid common, general injuries such as delayed onset muscle soreness. This type of massage can also help athletes recuperate more quickly from training or injuries and help them to become more focused, therefore allowing them to train harder with less injury. The therapist generally focuses on a specific problem area and preventing or alleviating pain.
I think that anyone that does any type of physical activity can benefit from a Sports Massage. There are many people who are not considered typical “athletes” are physically active and in need of specialized massage. For example, people who are out of shape and are just getting back into a workout routine. Sports massage can be extremely beneficial in relieving their sore muscles, preventing injuries and helping them to stay on track with their workout plan.
No matter if a person is a professional athlete, an amateur enthusiast or a weekend warrior, there are different demands made on the athlete defined by each sport. Sports Massage addresses those specific concerns. It is aimed at helping to heal strained muscles and allowing the healthy ones to reach their peak performance while simultaneously minimizing the risk of injury
Deep Tissue Massage
Soft tissue injuries can be relieved by a combination of remedial and soft tissue massage therapy techniques, which can improve the blood lymph and nerve supply to an area, aiding the healing process and reducing recovery time. A great massage for all those aches and pains or after a long plane flight, road trip or a day out at the theme parks on the Gold Coast A relaxing massage for tight or sore muscles. This deep tissue massage is good for those who like deep pressure, but does not necessarily have specific injuries or conditions. Deep tissue massage uses a variety of different techniques to relax the deeper layers of muscle. Remember, Massage does not have to hurt to be beneficial. Always feel free to give your massage therapist feedback on the amount of pressure being used, whether you would like more or less pressure.
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue also called connective tissue. Massage aims to release the persistent patterns of tension in the body also known as “adhesions” through slow strokes and deep finger, hand and forearm pressure on the tight areas, either going across or following the fibres of the muscles, fascia and tendons.
Deep Tissue Massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as, remedial massage but the pressure will generally be more intense. It helps to break up scar tissue. Deep Tissue Massage usually focuses on more specific areas, and may cause some soreness or discomfort during or right after the massage. It shouldn’t hurt, but it’s likely to be a bit more uncomfortable than a classic Swedish massage. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a couple of days. You should always feel free to speak up if the pressure is too much for you.
Deep Tissue is the perfect massage for any athlete, weekend warrior or anyone else who has muscular pain.
it aims to treat conditions such as localized soreness, tightness, pain as well as new or old muscular injuries. These goals are achieved by reducing the amount of waste product within in the muscle, which can be generated by strenuous or repetitive physical activity.
This treatment is a firm usually deep massage which aims to affect all muscle layers, ligaments, tendons as well as connective tissue. The intent is to break up old structural patterns and to allow the free flow of nutrients and oxygen to the Soft tissues.
Although this type of treatment is known to be a bit uncomfortable, I realize that not everyone is training to be an elite athlete and so the pressure and techniques used will vary to insure your individual comfort.
Deep Tissue Massage will leave you feeling fantastic and totally ready to take on the world!
Swedish Massage
Swedish is more than a luxury: it’s a wonderful way to put your mind and body back in harmony. The stress and strain of everyday living will drift away as the full body Swedish massage releases your physical and mental tensions.
